A Long Time Coming …

A funny thing happened to me…

The event
A few days ago I mentioned to one of my co-workers that “I blog”. It was one of those things that you say to someone when you desperately need to start up a conversation. She of course, almost immediately, hopped on the computer and asked me what my web-site was. So I, almost instantly, said, “the site was under maintenance”.

 The result

I felt so bad afterwards, not because I lied to her, but because I had spread myself thin. Here I am, Facebooking, Myspacing, Twittering, loopting, AIMing, MSNing, Yahooing and everything Else-ing. I have grown so accustom showing the “real” me by constantly updating my status, that all my randomness is gone. Honestly, by the time I get home and start to think of something to write about my mind draws a blank. I end up on the Fringe or Big Love (my fav shows) websites. As if that is going to help me express myself. Moreover, I completely forgot my login information for Blogger. I spent approximately, 43 minutes yesterday trying to figure out which email address and password I used. Most of that time was spent trying to maneuver the helpdesk on this site to reset my password. (Speaking of that, Blogger/Google you need to do a better job at that. At one point on the “reset your password” page I clicked on for help, took me to another page that asked me to login for help. WTF, Seriously!!!)

 The moment of growth

Therefore, for New Years, I’m going off the grid. Well not entirely, I’m keeping my login in to ALL my sites, but I will be editing them to make them more impersonal. So, don’t expect different status updates on all of them, its way to draining. I will also be adding the link to My Blog to them, instead of linking them to my blog. This is my first totally creative project that I’m sharing with the world I’ve done since art class. And even then it the was teacher telling the class what to create. Since no one is limiting me here, I shouldn’t either. Plus who knows, this blog may make me famous!!! So here’s to cutting myself off … so that you can find me.

Yours Truely …
