Want to feel liberated?

Eden belonged to Adam and Eve
Just as a pod with its two peas
Mother Nature is labeled as our mistress
As we roam the land and seven seas
Searching for the Apple
The root of our desire
Hurry to meet me in the chapel
Before the Snake decides it needs fire

Influenced by Kanye’s “Eve made Adam bite the apple” interview on The Breakfast Club.

Being too expressive has its cost, just take a look at Kanye. The man gets judged for his thoughts and views as if we can’t relate to him on some level.

We were with him when he was producing beats. We stood by him when College Drop Out … dropped out. (You get it 😏.) But some where between Late Registration and 808 we lost him. And now, most of the music we listen to sounds like 808 😒.

When did we become like our parents? Stuck in a time period and afraid to move forward? Judging others who do?

We are Millennials… all of us are special remember! We were taught to express ourselves and to mean what we say. Some  members of the older generations have forgotten that they were told the same thing when they were growing up. Some of us still don’t understand how we are special.

Our parents grew up telling us, “If we don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all”. Along the way we decided that meant we can only be concerned with someone when we are talking about ourselves.

What happened to “sharing is caring” and “spread the love”?

Stop feeding into the hype. Yes “the force” is in you to excel, but we need to listen too. Just listen… sometimes, it’ll take your attention away from you.

P.S… In order to prepare myself for graduate school, I decided to focus on managing my time better. Coincidentally, that is also the reason I decided to go the DIY route and make my own 2017 calendar.

Simple, pretty and FREE is the perfect description for this minimalist colorful calendar. And for those of you like me, I’m sure we can put it to good use. So, print it out and display it on your wall, desk or include it in your planner.

  1. Viewpoints are a tricky thing. Children are fed their patents thoughts. Even in rebellion, you have to think about what you were told to know what you ate rebelling against. It’s an age old problem. Your liberation leaves behind the past by definition. Old ideas become quaint
