Happy Valentine’s Day!

Since deciding to post bi-weekly I went back and forth with myself on a Valentine’s topic. This holiday isn’t as celebrated as they make it seem on tv. The truth is, most people think this day is only about romance and don’t know how to make it memorable. However I’m not most people… Valentine’s Day (to me) has become a yearly reminder for a few things.

  • To appreciate my 1st loves
  • Treat them like they are my last
  • Share it with the world

And we aren’t limiting this notion to romantic relationships either. Take my interest in writing and blogging for instance. If you have been on my blog for awhile, you have noticed the changes in my style of writing. That’s because I now apply the philosophy laid out above to it. Resulting in you getting to read posts like this…

Jay Z and Beyonce – America’s Sweethearts ❤️

Jay z and Beyonce are having an amazing 2017 already and I couldn’t be anymore happy for them. With all the hype about the Carters at the Grammys, their pregnancy announcement and  DJ Khaled’s new track featuring them how could I not be!

Which lend me to think about My 1st Song by Jay z. One of the dopest songs about work ethic and hustling 101. Don’t just take my word for it, President Obama agreed.  Nonetheless, this is about treating writing/blogging like its brand new. So, I gotta do what I do.

Like I’m in my childhood bedroom again
Practicing hooked on phonics and
When I paced up and down in the den
To find my rhyme again
Then I started to write with a sharpie pen
Needed to make my message to sink in.
Then I sat back

And I wrote about

Then Jay comes in with the hook…

It’s my life, it’s my pain and my struggle
The songs that I sing to you is my everything
Treat my first like my last, and my last like my first
And my thirst is the same as when I came
It’s my joy and my tears
And the laughter it brings to me, it’s my everything

Now you give it a try ❤️
